What is Endometrial Receptivity Array?
NewLife Fertility Centre performs Endometrial Receptivity Array (ERA) for our Ontario patients to determine the best time for the embryo transfer. Endometrial Receptivity Array is a genetic test that provides results from a small sample of endometrial tissue. ERA testing helps determine if the endometrium is receptive at the time of sampling by analyzing 248 genes involved in endometrial receptivity. The specialized test helps find your personalized window of implantation in case of displacement and will allow a personalized embryo transfer. We have the highest pregnancy success rate in Canada because we work tirelessly to customize fertility treatments. Contact us to learn more about ERA testing.
How Does the Endometrial Receptivity Analysis Work?
An endometrial receptivity test starts with a biopsy of a small sample of your endometrial tissue. We perform the testing on the day that an embryo transfer would typically occur. The tissue is analyzed for genes that are involved in embryo receptivity to determine the best times for embryo transfer. The tissue reveals whether the uterus is receptive during the cycle. The information helps us make any necessary adjustments to personalize each patient’s IVF protocol and find the perfect time for the embryo transfer.
ERA Benefits
The most significant benefit of an ERA test is that it helps personalize the embryo transfer experience. The goal of analyzing over 200 genes is to determine the best day to transfer an embryo to the uterus for successful implantation. Patients with multiple recurrent implantation failures are the best candidates for ERA testing. Three in every ten patients have a displaced window of implantation, so ERA testing is beneficial for helping these patients find their optimal window of opportunity for pregnancy.
What Causes Implantation to Fail?
Implantation occurs when the embryo attaches to the uterine wall, leading to pregnancy. If a patient does not become pregnant after multiple IVF cycles with high-quality embryos, we recommend an evaluation to determine the reasoning. Implantation issues may be related to blood clotting issues, uterine abnormalities, hormonal disorders, infections, immunological factors, or other health issues. Implantation failure can also occur when the uterine environment isn’t ready for an embryo. Endometrial receptivity testing is critical to determine if the timing is a cause of repeated implantation failure.
